Initially this will consist of a significant amount of time to be spent underground and in the open pit mapping.
Guidance and training will be provided by international experts in the field of structural geology.
You will also assist the Resource Geologist in wireframing 3D structures and ore blocks to maximise return for the operation.Role responsibilities:
  • Work safely in both underground and open pit environments and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures
  • Assist with the development and uphold standards for managing geological mapping data, ensuring that all necessary geological and geotechnical information is recorded
  • A strong understanding of structural controls in metallogenic systems and a broader understanding of geochemistry, geophysics, mining and processing
  • The ability to think in 3D and use a compass is essential
  • Develop and improve ore body and structural domain knowledge by the production of appropriate 3D geological models, cross sections, plans and long sections showing interpreted and mapping of the geology and mineralisation.

  • A Masters, or Ph.D in Geology, or Engineering with a an emphasis on structural controls
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals
  • QGIS (Advanced)
  • Leapfrog (Highly regarded)
  • Datamine/ Surpac, or other similar mining software
  • Dips, or similar structural software
  • Bilingual – French (Preferred) / English (highly regarded); Berber, Arabic (regarded)
